Buffy gripped her stake tightly in her hand as she walked leisurely through the cemetary. It was an unusually quiet night on the Hellmouth...not a peep coming from the world of darkness. Buffy smoothed a stray piece of blonde hair out of her face and back up into the ponytail she had messily thrown her hair into.

She was a little chilly, and a bit bored. Almost every night that week she had slayed closed to five vampires. Probably all sent by Angel....Angelus, she corrected herself. That monster wasn't Angel...she shook her head to push away those thoughts and re-focused on her patrolling. She paused for a moment, a small grin developing when she heard a twig snap. She turned just in time to kick the vampire in his face.

The vampire growled, quickly regaining his balance. He took a swing at Buffy, which she easily avoided, then proceeded to punch the vampire back against a tree. But the vampire quickly freed his hand and wrapped it around her neck. The stake dropped from Buffy's hand as she quickly lifted them up to try and pry his fingers from her skin.

The vampire snickered and threw Buffy up against a crypt wall, squeezing his hand tighter. Buffy gasped for breath, panicking when she felt the last bit of air in her lungs fade.

"I'm going to be real popular with the guys," the vampire said proudly, "little old me, ripping the Slayer's throat out." Her feet dangled as he lifted her in the air. She couldn't even muster the strength to kick him.

The blackness started to fill Buffy's eyes as she frantically scratched at the vampire's hands with her nails. Suddenly she fell to the cold ground as vampire dust fell like snow around her hair and shoulders. She brought a hand up to her throat, coughing hoarsely as she sucked in as much air as she could. She looked up from where she sat to thank her rescuer, but found no words could form.

"Hello, lover." Angelus said, smirking as he held her stake in his hand. On the defense, she slowly got to her feet, her eyes never leaving his face.

"What are you doing here?" she asked him, frustrated that her voice was still a little scratchy.

"Is that the kind of thanks you give your friends for saving your life?" he asked, raising an eyebrow at her, "Okay fine...the truth is, I didn't want some slimey little toad killing you...when I want to do it myself." he continued when she only glared at him.

"You're not my friend, and you're seriously delusional if you think you're going to kill me." she informed him, crossing her arms against her chest. "Now what do you want?"

Angel moved closer to her, twirling the stake between his fingers. "Isn't that obvious Buff?" he asked her quietly, reaching out with his other hand to stroke her cheek.

He had barely skimmed her skin when she angrily knocked his arm away.

"Again, what - do - you - want?" she hissed through gritted teeth. He laughed, but didnt move.

"Buff...you just need to relax a bit. I was just in8 the neighborhood and saw you were in trouble. I decided to give you a hand. I helped you out," he said, leaning in closely, "now how are you going to help me out?"

She saw the intended gleam in his eyes and shook her head in disgust. "You repluse me. Now leave, before you find yourself in a nice little pile of ash at my feet." she muttered and started to walk away.

With a small growl, Angel slammed his arm against the crypt wall, blocking Buffy's way. She turned quickly to punch him, but he grabbed her arm and pressed it roughly up against the wall. She didn't move when he leaned in close to her. His lips for a fraction away from hers and she although she hated herself for it, she wanted to kiss him. So badly.

"Kind of sad isn't it?" he taunted softly, "You know what I am, and it doesn't matter to you..."

"What are you talking about?" she asked quietly, a hint of anger in her voice.

"C'mon, Buff, don't play stupid little blonde..." Angel brought his hand up to slide a finger across her lips. He then moved his hand down her neck over her chest seductively. "You still want me, even though you know what I am."

"You're sick and twisted." she hissed at him, but still found herself unable to move under his penetrating stare.

"Am I? You really think *I'm* the one who is twisted? What would your friends think if they knew you were still hot for the vampire who wanted to kill them?" he said, his mouth grinning coldly.

Buffy tried to jerk her arm from his grasp, but he only tightened his hold on her. He moved his hand from her breast, and up to the back of her neck. He pulled the ponytail band out, watching as her hair cascaded around her shoulders.

"Don't touch me..." she said weakly, and not too convincingly.

"I think about you all the time," he whispered, his voice suddenly soft. His hands slid through her hair gently, caressing each strand. "I don't know what's wrong with me. I want you so badly..."

Buffy swallowed, getting ready to kick him where she *knew* it would cause pain, but paused when she saw the tender emotion in his otherwise cold eyes.

She watched in a mixture of horror and yearning as he brought his lips down on hers. Despising herself for it, Buffy responded, hungrily taking him in. Angelus slid his tounge in her mouth, kissing her greedily. When she moaned softly, he moved his hand down her body, sliding it between her legs. Hr growled in pleasure as Buffy sighed his name.

Her eyes shot open and widened when she heard the low growl in his throat. She pulled away, pushing as far back against the crypt wall as she could. Angelus grinned lazily at her.

"Gee Buff, it's kinda cold out here...got any place I could...warm up?" he asked, squeezing his hand between her legs before roughly throwing her to the ground. Her emotional strength weakened, as she just stared up at him.

He started laughing, deep and obnoxiously. "All it takes is a few soft words and you're like putty in my hands. It's so sad!"

Buffy felt the tears form, but refused to cry them in front of Angel...she wouldn't give him the satisfaction of knowing he could still hurt her.

"Gee...what would your friends think of you Buff? I know what *I* think of you...but your friends...people who *actually* care about you? They'll probably find your more pathetic than I ever could."

"Get out of here." Buffy said firmly. She slowly got to her feet, a heated warning in her eyes. Angel continued to smile, tossing the stake to her.

"Until next time...lover." he smirked, blowing her a kiss before he turned and disappeared into the darkness of the night.

Buffy stood, watching him for a moment, debating whether or not to toss the stake into his heart. She knew she wouldn't. And she hated herself for it. He had been right...even now...as a monster, he could still control her emotions. It was humiliating. When he kissed her, it was passion...heat...it was appalling!

Buffy gripped the stake tightly, exhaling slowly before she turned and wandered off. She only hoped there would be a couple more vamps wandering about tonight...she was in the mood for some violent slayage. And then maybe she would go home...and take  a nice long cold shower.
