"Did you hear that?" Cordelia asked pulling away from her steamy lip lock with Angel. She pushed him away slowly, straining to hear any small noise.

Angel grinned widely and pulled her back to him. "I didn't hear anything, stop worrying."

Cordy frowned. "But Fred said the Destroyer would be coming for you soon. Death...mayhem. Remember all that fun?"

Angel shrugged. "Whatever or whoever the Destroyer is, I can take him."

Cordelia relaxed when she heard the confidence in his voice. She pulled away once more when he leaned down to kiss her. "So, you told Buffy about us and everything right? Because I don't want her coming here causing a big cry-baby scene, I may have to blind her to death with my super glow-worm powers."

Angel sighed inwardly. "Well, yeah I told her, finally. It took me forever to remember her phone number. You know, I don't even think I should have had to tell her. She's not a part of my life anymore!"

Cordelia smiled, accepting his answer. "Well, as long as she knows you're mine now. Chosen one my ass. I'm more chosen than she is! The Powers That Be tell me so."

"Uh huh." Angel mumbled, kissing her again.

Suddenly Cordelia couldn't see Angel. He became a blur, sliding away from her as the vision took over. A small figure swung a sword powerfully over their head. Cordelia could feel fear and smelled blood.

Gasping, she pushed Angel away, her eyes widening once the vision passed.

"What is it Corduff...I mean Cordy?" he asked quickly with concern.

"The Destroyer! I could feel him coming."

"When?" Angel asked urgently, heading towards the phone to call Fred and Gunn.

"Now!" she screamed. Angel whipped around to look at her, surprise on his face when seconds later the Hyperion door crashed open, wood splintering off the edges. A shadow stood in the doorway, as the dust settled from the broken frame. The Destroyer stood for a moment before walking calmly and quickly down into the lobby.

Pulling a stake from a pocket, the Destroyer whipped it smoothly with force towards the vampire. Shock had overcome Angel, and he only had time to whimper as the wood tip punctured his heart.

Cordy screamed as Angel fell to a small pile of dust on the Hyperion lobby. She continued to scream as she turned towards the Destroyer who had pulled a large silver sword from a black sheath.

Cordy closed her eyes and tried to use her demon powers. The bright light she possessed remained silent and Cordy quickly searched for a weapon. Spotting a fighting ax, Cordy leapt for it. But it was too late.

The Destoyer swiftly shoved the sword through Cordy's chest and she immediately fell quietly to the ground.

Turning, the Destroyer headed to the kitchen and flipped the gas stove on high. Lighting a small match, the Destroyer watched as flames shot up, cinging the cupboards. After placing several flammable items on the stove, the Destroyer walked patiently out into the warm L.A. night.

The flames engulfed the kitchen, spreading quickly into the lobby. In a short time, Hyperion would be burned to the ground.

The Destroyer opened up the black car door and slid inside. The engine started quickly and the car took off down the road and soon, out of Los Angeles.

The Destroyer was miles out of Los Angeles before the fire department arrived, only to find what was expected. A building of ruin with one body inside.

Coasting along the highway, about two hours away, the small black car made it's way to Sunnydale. And inside, the Destroyer drove quietly, listening to the soothing sounds of soft rock. Now she could live again. Now she was finally at peace.

In the dark, with the stars laughing down at her, Buffy Summers smiled.
